GoodsID has developed a tamper-proof Digital Passport solution for all durable products/assets/equipment—meaning those that require maintenance, repair, and servicing, and that may have multiple owners (e.g., vehicles, aircraft, furniture, boilers, industrial equipment, real estate assets such as housing, etc.). A product’s Digital Passport is composed of all the data that characterizes it, which is recorded, time-stamped, and digitally signed, ensuring its authenticity. All repairs and maintenance operations carried out on the product are recorded in this Digital Passport, which therefore becomes a true digital service logbook. The Digital Passport is unique, non-duplicable, and tamper-proof, as the entire history of the product is recorded, certified, and time-stamped on the blockchain. The Digital Passport is transferable to a new owner in the event of resale. It enables the issuer of the passport to track the product throughout its lifecycle and reach successive owners—anonymously—to offer them services. Indeed, services related to the product can be embedded within the Digital Passport to help owners manage their asset optimally: warranty, insurance, repair, valuation, resale, and end-of-life services (trade-in/renewal, refurbishment, recycling), etc.
