PassportLab

PassportLab is a B2B SaaS platform that generates ESPR-compliant Digital Product Passports for EU importers and private label brands. Built on W3C Verifiable Credentials v2.0, Ed25519 cryptographic signatures, SD-JWT selective disclosure, and GS1 Digital Link QR codes, PassportLab produces passports that are cryptographically signed, tamper-evident, and EU Registry-ready. The platform is engineered and hosted in Germany under GDPR-sovereign infrastructure, and supports four languages in production: English, German, French, Italian, covering the core EU importer market. PassportLab targets seven regulated product categories: textiles, steel, batteries, electronics, aluminium, tires, and furniture. It implements the UNTP DPP 0.6.0 standard and DID:Web architecture, and includes a Zebra ZPL label engine for physical GS1 Digital Link label generation at the point of issuance. The platform is built specifically for importers and private label brands — companies that don't manufacture but are responsible for placing regulated products on the EU market and must demonstrate compliance under ESPR delegated acts. PassportLab has published a formal pledge on the European Commission's EU Textiles Ecosystem Platform (DG GROW), committing to maintain production-ready DPP infrastructure for textile importers and SMEs ahead of the January 2028 mandate and the July 19, 2026 textile destruction ban, including free DPP generation for textile products with no approval wait.
